CHRONICLES OF NEVER for THE ANNEX COLLABORATION
Chronicles of Never designer Gareth Moody and our Annex designers have collaborated for the first time to create a new line of high-street menswear that will only be available exclusively through The Annex Concept Store in Bondi. The line offers the chance to experience a new twist on traditional styles that have defined both brands. Stephanie Reeve, head designer for Annex, explains, “our collections are quite different, so we are creating a real twist on both our lines and collaborating together to create something amazing.” Chronicles of Never and Annex have vastly different yet complimentary aesthetics, allowing for an effortless collaboration with a new and innovative approach to street style. Key shapes and styles which have been the strengths of both brands have been selected and blended, with both designers working closely together to create a unique aesthetic that strongly represents them both. The finish on many garments is unique and created exclusively for this collaboration. An intensive washing technique on pigment spray dyes forms the basis of the khaki, sandstone,navy and forest range. The signature Annex wash has been applied to shapes that have defined Chronicles of Never; harsh stonewashing on superfine t-shirts and long-sleeve tops, denim and drop crotch trousers. The drop crotch pants and slim leg trousers have been reworked and redesigned to create a new look Chino.

Last night we held an exclusive in store event at the The Annex for the launch of the Chronicles of Never AW12 collection. The intimate gathering of VIP clients and media allowed for designer Gareth Moody to showcase his new collection. Its sleek, minimal aesthetic was an ode to Chronicles roots, but also represented a shift in design. As Gareth Moody said last night the collection still has the ever-present draping and wide-neck tees but they have also added more tailored pieces, with heavy cropped coats in wool and fitted leather jackets. Along with the basics, these ‘hero’ pieces, as Gareth described them, formed a cohesive collection that can be mixed and matched. With the success of last night’s event, the collection is now in store, so come on down and check it out at The Annex.
